We refuse to put fragrance on your face. Instead, we made one to open your skincare ritual. Citronelle, jungle greens and agarwood, in a sleeve of mendong grass hand-loomed in Tasikmalaya.

Fragrance notes:
Citronelle (serai wangi), with lemongrass and citrus. Sharp, green, bitter as rind.

Jungle Greens, with leaf, grass, oakmoss, sage and peppermint. Wet fern and warm earth after rain.

Agarwood (gaharu), with santal. Smoky and sweet, faintly animal.

The Craft
It starts in the wetlands of Purbaratu, Tasikmalaya, where mendong grass is cut, sun-dried and dyed before being woven. 

Hand-loomed in Macassar Brown. Edged in a hardy pandan samak, dyed our signature Paloma Green. Everything is set on the alat tenun, a loom with no motor, in a plain over-under weave carried down through generations.

Twelve steps. Six pairs of specialised hands. One bottle sleeve.

Each piece is unique. Minor variation in weave and finish is inherent to the craft.

KEY BENEFITS

Where It Comes From

Citronelle, or serai wangi, cut by the armful and boiled for mandian herba, the Malay herbal bath. Steam through the kitchen, then the hall, then the clothes on the line, green and sharp and bitter as rind. You smell it on people before you see them.

Jungle Greens is what the rainforest gives up when the rain stops. Wet leaf, torn moss, earth dark and warm, ferns crushed underfoot, the whole floor breathing out for an hour before it goes quiet again.

Agarwood when burned comes up sweet and smoky and faintly animal. Malay rulers held it as royal property. It went north as tribute to Chinese courts by the twelfth century.
